Essential
Required to remember whether you accepted, rejected, or customised cookies. Stored up to six months in a cookie named sg_reader_consent and mirrored in localStorage as reader_consent_v1.
Functional / maps
If enabled, allows Google Maps iframes to load on each page. If disabled, you will see a placeholder and may opt in via "Show the map".
Analytics
Not used here — the toggle exists for clarity but stays off.
Google Maps disclosure
Maps are embedded from Google. When loaded, Google may process IP address, device data, and interaction signals under its own terms. Neighbourhood-scale pins are used — not precise home locations.

Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies under Settings or Privacy. Blocking essential cookies may reset your preference banner each visit.
